Cigna TTK Pro Health Protect is a comprehensive health insurance plan. The plan has multiple coverage features which are both inbuilt and also optional all rolled into one. Unique inbuilt features include worldwide emergency cover, restoration of Sum Assured, Health Maintenance Benefits. The plan also has various valued added benefits like cumulative bonus, expert opinion in case of a critical illness, healthy rewards and free health check-ups. Optional features include voluntary co-pay, critical illness add-on, etc.

Benefits included

Hospitalization means any impatient treatment (min. 24 hrs stay) as well as the named 171 day care procedures.

  • Accident related hospitalisation are covered from day 1.
  • Other hospitalisations are covered after 30 days. Cover starts after 30 days, except accidents which are covered from day 1
  • Exceptions : Any pre-existing diseases (PED) which are covered after 4 years and some specified diseases which are covered after 2 years from the policy start date.

Out of pocket expenses

  • You will bear all the expenses not covered by the policy. Refer to the list of such expenses in the Policy Exclusions section below
  • Additionally, you will pay 0% copay for each admissible claim.
  • Besides, you will have to pay more if you stay in a room category above 5000

Claims settlement

  • If you go to a non-network hospital, you will have to get the claim settled on reimbursement basis by providing the original bills and documents to the insurer.
  • If you get admitted to a network hospital, you can get a cashless authorization from the insurer and then the insurer will settle the expenses directly with the hospital. See the list of the network hospitals near you below

Q. What is the pre and post hospitalization tenure?

A. Pre-hospitalization is covered for a period of 60 days prior to hospitalization while post-hospitalization is covered for 90 days after a successful discharge from the hospital.

Q. If the insured travels to a foreign location to avail medical treatment will it come under the purview of worldwide coverage feature?

A. No, it will not. The worldwide emergency cover is effective only if the insured is travelling abroad and suffers from any medical emergency which necessitates its treatment immediately. Since the insured’s return to India is not possible without the treatment, the treatment can be availed in any foreign country and it would be then reimbursed under the plan benefits.

Q. Will co-pay be imposed under a normal health plan if the voluntary co-pay option is not exercised?

A. Co-pay becomes a mandatory feature only if the insured’s age is 65 years or above. For individuals aged below 65 years, the co-pay feature is not inherent in the plan. if the policyholder wants, he can opt for a voluntary co-pay clause in return for lower premiums.

Q. Who can be covered in the family floater option?

A. A floater cover can be bought for self, spouse, dependent children and dependent parents.

Q. Will a claim made in the policy reduce the cumulative bonus earned?

A. No the cumulative bonus earned for claim-free years would not be reduced if any claim is made on the plan.
